We got an impromptu Spanish lesson at dinner tonight. We had no idea that he knew all of the colors so well! Such a smart little guy!

Milestones - 3 in 1 ... April 13th, 2011

Wow! Tonight was quite a night for Miss Becca.

She showed off all of her tricks -

And then decided that that wasn't enough and came up with some new ones....

She pulled herself up to standing all by herself -

She started doing the Mowgli crawl (the first step in standing up without support and then walking...) -

And then, much to her Mommy's fear, she started climbing up the stairs -

Look out world... here she comes!!!

Becca - 11 Months - April 12th, 2011

What a difference a month makes...
Becca has grown up so much over the last month. Last month she wasn't even crawling. We were worried that she would have to go see a Physical Therapist, but 2 days before her appointment, she was off and moving, and she hasn't looked back once. She is no longer eating baby food, picking up bits of food and feeding herself. She is very vocal and beginning to really understand communication - "uh oh", yay!, SO Big!, etc. She is getting so close to pulling herself up to stand and cruising around the furniture. She is still as sweet as ever, though, and couldn't be a happier baby!

Random acts of cuteness... April 10th, 2011

Ida Lee Easter Egg Hunt - April 9th, 2011

This past Saturday we took Ethan to the Ida Lee Easter Egg Hunt in Leesburg. They had a bunch of moonbounce/bouncy slides and 2 little mini tot-size roller coasters. I was sure that after all of the fun he had back in November and December at the Bouncy Slides, I was sure that he would run right up to the moonbounces and have a blast. But the minute he saw the mini boat swing and the mini gravitraon-type coaster, that was ALL he wanted to do. I was shocked! But, he loved them both and had a great time. Who knew!

After riding on the rides, it was time for the 3 year old Easter Egg Hunt. Ethan had his basket and was ready to go. We counted down...5...4...3...2...1... and he was OFF!!

Look at that basket full of eggs!!

Silly boy - April 6th, 2011

One night, in the middle of making dinner, I was shocked when a fierce Lion ran in and attacked all of us...

SOOOO Big!!! - April 4th, 2011

Becca has progressed SO much in the last month. She is really starting to understand language. She says "uh oh" when something falls on the ground. When you say "Yay!", she claps. But the cutest part of her beginning to communicate is that you can ask her how big she is and she is more than happy to tell you, in her own way, that she is SOOOO BIG!!!

She IS getting so big.... I can't believe she's almost a year old... time has flown by. It has all been great though and I love watching both of my kids growing up to be so happy!

Cherry Blossoms - April 3rd, 2011

Springtime in DC means The Cherry Blossom Festival and going to see the gorgeous trees down at Tidal Basin and the Jefferson Memorial. Since my parents have recently moved to the DC area, we had to head down.

My mom and I took Ethan out on the paddle boat while we were down there. He had such a great time being the little Captain and driving the boat while Mom and I pedaled. Here is the Facebook Album from pics I took on my phone.

Here are the rest of the pictures that we took while we were there. We all had such a great day!

Soccer - April 2nd, 2011

The moment I found out I was pregnant with a boy, Chris has dreamed of teaching his son how to play soccer. Ethan got a soccer goal and ball for his 2nd birthday and back in September he spent the afternoon kicking around with him in the field behind our house.

So, when I saw the Loudoun Soccer flyer at daycare, I knew I had to sign Ethan up for the Spring session. He is playing "Mini Soccer", which has to be the cutest thing you've ever seen!

At his age, they don't have teams or play real games, they are just learbing the skills. Basically it is chaos... The 3 years olds basically just run around and the parents try to keep them contained to their field... it's like herding cats... They play games like Red Light, Green Light and Bumper Balls and run around the field, etc.

The best part is that while there is a parent coach and assistant coach, the league has assigned a real soccer player to lead the sessions. I expected him to just go through the drills and let the parent coaches take over, but he is SO good with the kids and is fully engaged with them all having fun.

Ethan is having a great time and we are having fun watching him love it so much.
